Weight fluctuations

You may have noticed when you have been dieting that your weight fluctuates. This is the reason so many people give up on their weight loss journey!

When you’re dieting and your weight spikes this is not your diet failing!

You are still losing body fat! You’re just retaining water. This could be due to a high carbohydrate meal or a concentrated salt intake. Both will lead to water retention.

Like the stock market, your body over reacts to bad news (not that carbs or salt are bad).

The good thing is, after the tears have stopped and you regroup and keep on with your diet plan you should expect a drop in weight as the water leaves your fat cells.

If you don’t like using the scales between weigh ins use other things like a mirror image or clothes fit.
