Small commitments, big results

Have you ever thought about starting a ‘diet’ and contemplated counting your calories? You are wise to do so. Just make sure you do it right!
The amount of times I’ve heard people say to me ‘I’m not going to track my calories I’m just going to keep a log in my head’.

If you are; Rain man or Matt Damon in ‘Good Will Hunting’ then that might not be an issue. But for most with the busyness of our day’s it’s not going to be feasible.

What did you eat yesterday for breakfast, exactly?! Nope not surprising you can’t remember.

After taking off and putting weight on and taking it off every year for the last 4 years I still forget stuff when tracking if I don’t record it then and there. I would not have a chance if I left it until the evening or next day to record what I ate.

Then when you do start guessing and ‘Eyeballing calories’ this is when you stray even further from accuracy.

You would be an idiot to try and count calories in your head, eyeball portion sizes and not use an app like My Fitness Pal which has a comprehensive catalogue of food to record your food on the spot.

Talk about making it hard for yourself, or maybe it’s a bit more effort than you want to put in to achieve your goal.

If you’re thinking to yourself ‘that it sounds like a lot of effort’ it’s not! Tracking your intake should take 5 minutes per day.

You’re on your phone a lot anyway, what’s 5 minutes?
