It is a negative mindset. This is hiding your head in the sand or justifying it to yourself by calling it a cheat day.
All that is happening is you are setting yourself back.
By tracking when you go over you can take those excess calories off the following day/days and not let it affect your diet.
If you know you have got an event coming up do something about it. Eat dust for breakfast and lunch and save all your calories for the evening event.
Or you could reduce your calories Monday to Friday to give yourself more to play with at the weekend.
