What is too much exercise or overtaining?

Over training is something that most people will never realise.

When you are not recovering between training sessions and it is effecting the performance of the next session, that is over training.

High intensity interval training performed too many times per week is something that could lead to over training as it would take a toll on the nervous system.

There is such a thing as over reaching which, is fatigue from training, but you can offset this with a thoughtfully positioned deload (reduction in volume) week in your training.
