You may have asked before, ‘what is the best exercise for fat loss?’, ‘how many repetitions should I do to burn fat?’ and ‘what is the fat burning zone?’. Well, you might want to be sitting down for this!
There are no fat burning workouts!
There are only workouts that expend more energy! Expending more energy could help you towards achieving an energy deficit, which, over time will result in fat loss, but that is a big ask! An energy deficit will only occur if your energy expenditure is more than your energy consumption.
So it doesn’t matter what exercise you do, how many reps you do or how fast you run there are no exercises or workouts that cause fat loss. So when you see ‘fat burning exercise’ or ‘exercises that melt body fat’ it’s just a marketing ploy.
Only an energy deficit can achieve fat loss!
